Course Details
- This course is 7 hours classroom learning time
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the course starts to register your details
- Running late – you will not be accepted on the course and no refund will be issued

- FPT use a combination of Powerpoint presentations, visual aids, practical activities, group work, FAQ’s and assessments to accommodate for all learners.

Course Content
- This is a forestry-specific EFAW – F course. It adapts the normal Emergency First Aid at Work curriculum for forestry workers and covers the Forestry Commission’s extra themes, such as severe bleeding, crush injuries, cold, and Lymes disease).
- As a first aider, you must analyse the situation and prioritise accordingly.
- There are many things that you can do on the road before emergency services arrives.
- To know when to place an unresponsive and breathing casualty into the recovery position.
- To be able demonstrate a primary survey. CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) should be performed on a infant, child, and adult.
- Make use of the Automated External Defibrillator; understand why it is utilised and how it works.
- To cope with a choking infant, child, or adult.
- This course covers seizures such as epilepsy and generalised seizures.
- There is bleeding and shock.
- Burns are covered as part of the course, including superficial, partial, and full thickness burns.
- Anaphylaxis – what would you do if someone is suffering from an allergic reaction?
- Cuts, grazes, bruises, splinters, and nosebleeds are examples of minor injuries.
